Chemists Warn of a Food and Natural-Resources Crisis

Five major scientific societies have joined together to warn of a looming food crisis in the face of shortages of phosphorus -- a critical element in fertilizer. They also warn of increasing shortages in other critical resources, such as rare-earth elements, and declare their intent to find breakthroughs to help solve these problems.
